I'm a bit nutty but would like your advice on what you thought of sneaking into Baxter late April and starting my hike on snowshoes . . .. how impassable is the 100 mile wilderness this time of year? Are snowmelt and river crossings super intense? Is Kathadin impossible to access late April (legally of course it is . . . but I'm Leave-no-Trace!)

It's a little late for advice now, but I'm curious, did you try this? I'd love to hear how it went!
