I'm sitting in the Bahamas with Bouie, Steiner, Heehaw, and Barrel Roll. We're in Nassau right now, shoving off tonight for a 13 hour night crossing to Abacos. We've only been here for a day so far but I can see how awesome Bouie's summer must have been. More to come later.

The Bahamas trip was an astounding success. Barrel Roll and I met up with Steiner and Heehaw in the Nassau Airport. There we were in a strange place with no idea where we were going, what we were looking for, or how we would know when we found it.

Barrel Roll had a notion somewhere in the back of his head. Two words surfaced from the recesses of his mind: "Bahama Divers". "I think Bouie said something about Bahama Divers." So we looked for such a place on the crappy, free, advertisement laden map we got ahold of. There it was, Bahama Divers, on the north side of the island, just across the bay from the other Bahama Divers.

Hmmm.

Well, whatever, let's go. We told the cab driver that we wanted to go to Bahama Divers, and were both relieved and concerned that he didn't ask us which one we meant. Off we went. Twenty minutes later, we were standing outside one of the Bahama Divers, wondering what to do next. There was no giant Sobohobos banner waiting for us. There was no cute little native boy on the lookout for us who would then lead us to Bouie.

Back when we were on the AT, we had a thing we would do. If you were coming into an area where you thought someone in the group was waiting - say at the shelter we had planned on stopping at for lunch - you would call out in a high pitched, almost owl-like "foooooooooo". If anyone heard it, they would respond with a foo of their own.

Half jokingly, I said that I had a great idea, we just had to foo to find Bouie. Heehaw thought it was a perfect idea, so I fooed. After a few seconds of silence, we heard a faint foo. Steiner said it was probably just Barrel Roll , who was around the corner. But as soon as we heard those big footsteps coming down the docks, and saw that Johnny Depp look-a-like charging at us, we knew it had worked. Miraculously, we had actually managed to find Bouie. The good times could begin.

Foo.
